It's Not Your Willpower. It's Your Gut.

What I learned from owning gyms, and why I left the fitness industry to partner with a superfood company.

When I owned gyms, diet was at the center of everything I taught. Every trainer knows the saying: you can't out train a bad diet. I watched it play out a thousand times. People would show up consistently, put in the work, sweat through the sessions, and still not get the results they wanted. But here's the thing that took me years to really understand.

Even when people knew exactly what they should be eating, their body wanted something else. They'd plan out clean meals on Sunday and cave by Wednesday. They'd crave the sugar, the bread, the chips, the wine. They'd white knuckle it for a stretch, then collapse into a binge, then start over Monday. And almost every single one of them blamed themselves for not having enough discipline.

I bought into that explanation for a long time too. Just push harder. Just want it more. Just have more willpower.

Your cravings aren't really yours

The cravings most people fight aren't coming from some weak part of their personality. They're coming from the bacteria in their gut.
